Netherfield Farm also maintains a teaser stallion on-site, providing an additional tool for accurately monitoring mares and helping determine the optimal time for breeding.
This hands-on approach helps identify and address potential concerns early, promotes healthy pregnancies, and maximizes the likelihood of a successful outcome for both mare and foal. Foaling Care
At Netherfield Farm, mares receive attentive care and monitoring throughout late pregnancy to help ensure they are prepared for a safe and healthy delivery. With experienced staff onsite and veterinary oversight from Dr. Scott Kendall, mares can be closely observed as they approach their due dates.
When foaling time arrives, around-the-clock monitoring allows for rapid response should complications arise, helping support the best possible outcome for both mare and foal. Following birth, newborn foals are carefully evaluated to ensure they are nursing properly and developing as expected.
From foaling through weaning, mares and foals receive individualized care in a professional environment focused on health, safety, and long-term success. After weaning, young horses can seamlessly transition into the Equine Associates Young Horse Program, creating a complete pathway from birth through development with one trusted team.

Facilites
Located in the heart of horse country in Paris, Kentucky, Netherfield Farm's nearly 90-acre property provides an ideal environment for mares, foals, and young horses at every stage of development. The farm offers a variety of turnout options, allowing foals to progress naturally as they grow and gain confidence.
Newborn foals begin in smaller paddocks and a round pen where they can safely explore their surroundings and develop coordination. As they mature, they transition to larger paddocks before eventually joining other foals in spacious pasture settings with other young horses, encouraging healthy socialization and natural development.
Mares benefit from large, comfortable foaling stalls designed to provide a safe and secure environment during foaling and the early days of a foal's life. With ample turnout, thoughtful facility design, and room for horses to develop naturally, Netherfield Farm provides the foundation for healthy, confident young horses from birth through weaning and beyond.
