Touchstone Farm Facilities

Barn

Our barn is thoughtfully designed to support the needs of horses in a structured dressage training and young horse development program. Each 14 x 14 stall provides ample space for horses to move comfortably, rest, and settle into a consistent routine—an essential part of developing strength and balance in young horses.

Windows in every stall allow for natural light and outside visibility, helping horses stay relaxed, aware, and mentally engaged. This is especially important in young horse training, where a calm, confident mindset plays a key role in long-term success.

Openings into the aisle allow horses to put their heads out, increasing airflow and encouraging connection to their surroundings. This design reduces stress and supports a more positive daily experience, both in and out of training.

Fields

Turnout is a cornerstone of our program, supporting both the physical and mental development of horses in our dressage training and young horse development programs.

We offer smaller, individual turnout paddocks for focused management, as well as expansive group fields with shelters where young horses can grow, move freely, and develop naturally within a herd setting.

Each field is equipped with automatic waterers, ensuring convenience, cleanliness, and consistent hydration.

Situated in the heart of the Bluegrass region near Lexington, our land features a unique limestone-rich soil profile. This naturally occurring calcium supports bone density and strength, while lush pasture, mature trees, and rolling terrain create an ideal environment for raising and developing young horses.

This foundation is invaluable in producing sound, confident horses prepared for long-term success in dressage.

Arena

20 x 60 Meter Arena Built for Precision & Comfort

Our arena is thoughtfully designed to meet the demands of both dressage training and young horse development, offering a space that supports correct work in every season.

At 20 x 60 meters—slightly larger than a traditional Olympic dressage arena—it allows for fluid movement, proper geometry, and the ability to train horses with accuracy and consistency.

Expansive windows provide natural light and can be opened in the summer to create airflow and a refreshing breeze, keeping horses comfortable during training. In colder months, the windows are closed to maintain a protected, controlled environment.

This adaptable space ensures that horses in our program can train consistently, comfortably, and effectively year-round.

Round Pen

30 Meter Round Pen Designed for Safety & Connection

Our 30-meter round pen was built with intention, combining safety, visibility, and functionality to create an optimal training environment.

The wood panel construction features precise spacing that allows horses to see out while preventing the risk of injury—eliminating large gaps without creating a visually restrictive space. This balance helps horses feel less confined and more at ease from the very beginning.

A chain link top further enhances this openness, allowing horses to stay aware of their surroundings and reducing unnecessary stress or tension.

The generous 30-meter size encourages forward movement and natural expression, making it an ideal space for starting young horses and establishing a strong, confident foundation.
